Shiba inu pups are probably gonna be the next trend in dog now, like the puggle. Anyone who knows me well tell you I’m, a trend setter (snicker). Yet again, I was doing something before it was cool, like reading Wicked or thinking Johnny Depp was hot
Article: ‘Puppy cam’ is latest Internet sensation
But dammit, she was just in heat, her pups would have gone for double…or triple! Remember how cute she was?
Bah I suck.
There’s a lot of work involved with raising a litter of puppies, and it’s the Breeder’s responsibility to be certain they all go to appropriate homes. Shibas are a fairly healthy Breed, but they can still have Hereditary problems such as Hip Dysplasia, Subluxating Patellas, PRA, Glaucoma, Seizures, you get the idea. They are also a breed that is VERY independent, and has very selective hearing, especially when it comes to coming when called. Shiba puppies are the cutest little buggers you’ll ever see, but they can be a handful to raise and train. They learn how to push all your buttons, and then look at you with that cute innocent little face. Do yourselves, and the Breed, a favor, if you’re really interested in the Breed RESEARCH IT first. Talk to reputable Breeders. Go to the National Shiba Club of America website. The more informed you are about the Breed, the happier the experience of owning one of these guys will be. A reputable Breeder will be there for you for the life of your “friend”

Michelle! It’s been so long. In my rush to skim all over your blog so I don’t sound like a complete tool whilst catching up I saw a few things, and in a digest here they are: OMGWTF you’re a FELLOW? What happened to graduating from Med Student to Doctor and then Professor? Did you take a Fast-Track Course to Being A Really Old but Knowledgeable Academic? and OMG cute doggie! What, in the midst of all that you had time to become a dog breeder too?
*pauses to catch breath*
Okay no I’m not really THAT idiotic. I had no idea Shiba Inu was a real breed – I just saw this poster a long time ago and sniggered
